A fish under the sea but looks like a shark from above!

We all know this saying ‘Fake it Till you Make it.” If you don’t, it essentially means to try to “look the part.” If you think you are not cut out for being a student at a prestigious university, then this is your time to shine using this saying. Look the part. Buy fancy glasses, suits, turtle-necks; anything that makes you look like you go to a prestigious university even if you don’t go one.

The term “Fake it till you make it” is actually a good thing to do. You get more information necessary to be that new type of person by faking it.

A horse that looks like a unicorn.

Here’s an example. Bill is a student. He wants to be a professor. Professors dress in suits and have a sense of professionalism. Bill practices these traits and buy suits for himself. Other students recognize this. Other professor recognize this. Professors share with Bill different information than other students, due to his sense of professionalism. This different information helps Bill understand what it’s like to think like a professor. This better prepares him for success as a professor and thus, “fake it till you make it” is a good way to approach life.

For an anti-thesis of this argument, check out these two links of articles as to why you shouldn’t fake it till you make it.

What do you think? Should you fake it till you make it? Let me know what you think!
